We are increasingly seeing how important sustainability and circularity are to many of our customers, and they have naturally become an integral part of our business conversations over the last decade. For HQ Pack, it is at the heart of what we do. Understanding the role different materials can play in providing protection and designing with circularity in mind.

Return, repair and reuse

One of the simplest ways that HQ Pack supports customers is by returning the used packages to our facilities for cleaning, repair and recertification, so that they can be reused numerous times. Not only does this reduce the amount of natural resources required, but it is also more cost-effective in the long term. In cases where a material cannot be reused, HQ Pack is determined to reclaim and recycle it.

Optimized protection, minimal impact

When designing a high-end packaging solution, HQ Pack looks at the different packaging and transportation requirements, to see how we can maximise protection while minimising the use of virgin materials. That can be as simple as using recycled materials whenever possible. Where a virgin material is required, we ensure it is designed and manufactured in such a way that it can be easily reused. Alternatively, it can mean rather than moulding or welding components to a pallet, including them as screw-mounted options to increase their flexibility as well as circularity.

Supporting our customers' CSR goals

As major multinationals, many of our customers need to report how they are meeting ever tougher goals and regulations. Packaging is one area where gains can be found, and HQ Pack works closely with many of our customers to see exactly how we can support them. In fact, HQ Pack has been at the forefront of this trend for many years, incorporating ever more circular concepts into our packaging solutions.
